Bowditch Glee Club - 1st Place at Great America Festivals of Music

Bowditch Glee Club - 1st Place at Great America Festivals of Music

The Bowditch Glee Club, led by music teacher David Song, placed first at California's Great America Festivals of Music. Bowditch outranked all the schools who participated in the festival - five high schools and one middle school. We were the only choir that received Unanimous Superior ratings from the adjudicators and the judges had to use a high school rubric to rate our level of performance and skills.

Bowditch Middle School: Required Summer Reading

All Language Arts students entering grades six through eight must read over the summer. The
following grade-appropriate titles are strongly recommended. Students who are stronger readers
should read two titles from the list for their grade. Students will be assessed on their understanding of
their summer reading’s story, characters, and author’s techniques at the beginning of the school year.
Parents concerned about the appropriateness of a particular title should be involved in their child’s
selection process. The Foster City Library was given this list as well in order to stock multiple copies
of each book. If at all possible, students should plan to bring books during the first week of school.

    These are the approved titles.

With the sunny weather and summer approaching, please remember that our school has a dress code. Students should wear clothing appropriate for school – no short-shorts, camisole style tank tops, or bare midriff shirts (half tops). Also, no logos or images on clothing that shows or advertises alcohol or drugs. We appreciate families support in keeping our students appropriate and ready to learn at school. We will ask students who are not complying with this policy to change into their PE clothes, or to cover up with something they have at school.

For student and pedestrian safety, please do not use the staff parking lot for drop off/pick up. Only school employees, and cars with valid handicapped parking permission are allowed in the staff section of the parking lot. Please share this information with anyone who may be dropping off or picking up students (ie grandparents, caretakers etc.)
